Creative Business Task

So we were asked to split into groups, and amongst are groups come up with an object which we could sell at the Christmas fair in the Student Union, preferably with a Christmas based theme to it, originally Me and Frankie joined a group we didn’t particularly want to work with, due to different interests, also, they were getting us to come up with all the ideas and do all the thinking. The ideas we came up with (to them weren’t good enough.) So me and my partner in crime Frankie got frustrated, so to solve this problem we migrated to another group and took our ideas with us. Our ideas involved selling T-shirts with a cartoon cupcake on and having them for all different age groups the older the age group the more sophisticated the t-shirt design was. In our new group they considered it as an idea and actually listened to our suggestions, but, after brainstorming lots of ideas together, including stuff like jewellery or Christmas wrapping paper/cards we, stumbled upon the idea of making small boxes (or favours) filled with sweets and chocolate, we came up with a range of different colour schemes (Christmas based colours like Red/Gold/Silver/Green) and we were each assigned to make a few designs each based around Christmas as an outer pattern on the boxes, make them look a bit more fancier and interesting, our next move was to figure out what kind of chocolates and sweets do we want to sell, do we put them in a little bag (inside the box) to make them more hygienic, do we have less nut based chocolate because of allergies or maybe less gelatin based sweets so we could get more sales from other cultures, in the end we came up with the idea of having a selection, some with nutty chocolate others without nutty chocolate, some all chocolate with no sweets and some more sweets and no chocolate, this seemed the best way to fit a variety of boxes so the customer has more of a choice, furthermore, we went into research, market research its not good enough just having what we think will sell (a variety of different sweet boxes) but what other people want from us the smartest way to go about this was a questionnaire, and the easiest way to get people to do a questionnaire is when there not busy and bored on facebook, so a member of the team razzed up a quick Poll on ‘Surverymonkey.com’ a handy website for building surveys and finding out statistics for the given poll.
